Emotional Mess

Yup, thats me. I really have no idea why. I cried for about 35 minutes this evening. I am pretty sure that hubs may think I am crazy. Lol. Sometimes a girl just needs to cry I guess.

Plus, I didn't eat well today. Kira and I had a girls day at the hair salon and shopping. Now, I am completely exhausted.

Ryan (hubs) and I stayed up late last night. I love talking with him and giggling with him like we did when we first started dating *this is something I want to remember for personal reasons*.

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- NONE
Lunch- Spicy Chick-fil-a sandwich, fries, diet lemonade
Dinner- tuna sandwich on a sandwich thin, 5 homemade fried pickles (hubs request), broc & cheese rice. I didn't really eat that much. Too emotionally drained

and THAT is exacly what I got! And right now I don't care if I just consumed 1,000 calories of McDonald goodness because I just needed it. STAT!

Being a nurse is super hard, have a mentioned it. I took an oath to be my patient's advocate and that is exactly what I will be for the rest of my career. I am proud that I stood up for my patient today, even if that meant getting my ass chewed out by a doctor. I'm glad the family made the right decision, and I feel as though I made a difference. But, all of that made McDonalds a requirement!
What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- Sugar Free Oatmeal--YUCK!
Lunch- Santa Fe Salad--YUMMY!
Dinner- 2 Cheeseburgers and a Large Fry. I admit it. I could lie and say that I only had 1 cheeseburger, but I won't. They were worth every bite, and will be worth every bit of diarrhea! HAHAHA!

So, I'm thinking I am hitting the sack as soon as I post this. I didn't have my wallet with me today, so that means I have to get gas in the morning before work. Speaking of work, I am picking up extra on Friday. What was I thinking? New Car Pay OFF Debt. Lol

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- High Fiber Oatmeal (speaking of oatmeal I always use water instead of milk)
Lunch- Santa Fe Chicken Salad (surprised?), Peach
Dinner- 2 BLT (on 100 cal bread), Baked French Fries, FF Cottage Chz.
Snacks- 2 Twizzlers, 8 Peanut Butter Pretzels

Probably shouldn't of had 2 BLTs, buuut I was absolutely starving today. I think I may have eaten earlier than norm.

Breakfast- Bacon, Egg, Cheese on Wheat Toast, and shared some hash rounds with a co worker
Lunch- Santa Fe Chicken Salad
Dinner- Homemade beef and noodle made with baby bella, FF mushroom soup, seasonings, FF cream cheese. Tomatoes and FF Cottage Cheese. Not to bad.
Snack- Possibly watermelon...I may be too tired PLUS I had so much last night that I about peed the bed this morning. You think I'm kiddin?

OCD? Maybe...

It is a known fact that I pack way far in advance...Well...needless to say Kira and I could leave tonight on vacation! I am pretty much packed for the 2 of us. Hubs on the other hand waits until the night before to pack. I just cannot do that. It make me crazy if I don't feel organized. I really wouldn't say that I am really that organized of a person in my every day life though (I should work on it.)

Anyways, here is a pic of my craziness. Can it be said that we still have 2 weeks before we leave. Oh, and if we are stalking me, you should know that someone WILL be staying at our house and you have seen my dog so don't try breaking in!

Grill Out!

Tonight we had by far my favorite summer time meal! It is such a fav that I actually took pictures of it!

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- None...went to church instead
Lunch- Pepperjack Cheese Grilled Cheese, Pasta Salad
Snack- 4 Whole Wheat Ritz Crackers
The 1st picture is Kale Chips. My Momma introduced me to these. I never thought I would like kale, but a little EVOO S&P in the oven for 30 minutes...DELISH! The 2nd pic is loaded mash potatoes made with FF sour cream, skim milk, FF cheese, and turkey bacon. The final pic are kabobs and grilled pineapple! YUMMY!

I went ahead and got my lunch ready for the work week...and they are...SANTA FE CHICKEN SALADS! I believe I am addicted!

It was a pretty great weekend, and one where we didn't have to do a thing! I have an orientee at work this week so hopefully it will be a decent work week!

Avocado from Subway??

So, I have been listening to the Subway ads talking about their new avocado. I absolutely LOVE avocado so I have been anxious to try it. The hubs was in Corydon getting the car ready for vacation and called to see what I wanted for lunch, so I decided to go for it.


SO DISAPPOINTED! You can tell that it is straight out of a container, if not even a CAN! It has zero flavor, terrible texture, and it taste bitter! I had to put mayo on my sub just so I could finish it! Thumbs down Subway!

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- Skipped...I didn't wake up until 11!
Lunch- Subway 6in turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, terrible avocado, lite mayo sub with a bag of Baked Lays
Dinner- Chinese Buffet. Can we say swollen? I'm sure I will be tomorrow, but I feel like I kept my portions small and left feeling satisfied but not stuffed.

Si Si, another Corona Light Por Favor!

So, it was anther super busy, run my ass off type of day at the hospital...I was super busy. Maybe because we were so short, who knows? I feel as though I did really good on what I ate today...UNTIL DINNER!

Hubs and I went to our favorite Mexican eatery called El Nopalito! It is by far the BEST Mexican food around. Forget the Tex Mex junk that most people call Mexican. This is authentic. And what I love most is as soon as I walk in the manager brings me my Corona Light! I don't even have to ask! What more could a hard working nurse ask for at the end of the day?!?

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- Weight Smart Oatmeal with some homemade peach jam in it
Lunch- Santa Fe Chicken Salad (apparently I am on a kick!)
Snack- Bing Cherries....then I gave the rest to a co worker for doing my patient's trach care for me (my LEAST favorite thing EVER!)
Dinner- Hubs and I share a single order of steak/shrimp fajitas! I must say...I did have my far share of chips, salsa, and guac! LOVE El Nop!

Lets see...I'm tired and irritated! After a busy day of dealing with a noncompliant patient at the hospital I walk out and find that MY CAR WON'T START! Over it! The long tan Taurus really needs to last me 1 more year. More and more stuff seems to be going wrong with it these days.

My noncompliant patient only allowed me to eat lunch for 15 minutes so I didn't do too bad today.

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- 1c Fiber One Raisin Cereal (my fav and has 11 grams of FIBER!)
Lunch- Santa Fe Chicken Salad (I think I could eat this all the time--having it for lunch again tomorrow!)
Snack- Grapes
Dinner- Swiss Steak and Mash Potatoes (forgot the veg!)

I absolutely love can put so much into them and spice them up. The hubs actually requested that we have Grilled Chicken Cesar Salads tonight, but I really wasn't feeling the Cesar so I made a Santa Fe style...

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- SKIPPED (I regretted this decision later)
Lunch- Let over Hawaiian Pizza on Delite Crust (3 small slices)
Snack- a handful of Bing Cherries (expensive, but SO worth it!)
Dinner- Chicken Sante Fe Salad
How I made it- Romaine Lettuce, Chicken (I roasted it in the oven with a little olive oil and chili powder), Yellow Corn (rinse), Black Beans (rinse), Rotel, 1/4c of white raw Onion, FF Ranch Dressing (3 Tablespoons), and a Shell (120 calories)
Dessert- 1/2c of Ice Cream (I'm on a ice cream kick)
Snack- 2 slices of Kraft Cheese

Back to work I go tomorrow...I have dinner prepared so it will be easy for Hubs!

Sleepy, and Cold--Thats ME!

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast- Delite Turkey Sausage, Egg White, & Cheese Crossiant
Lunch- I 1st made a Smart Ones frozen dinner and took 1 bite and threw it out, then I made a can of soup. Took a bite, threw it out. NOTHING WAS GOOD. So, I settled with a ham and pepperjack cheese on whole wheat bun, and a couple Sun Chips. It is blah...
Nom Nom! Papa Murphys Hawaiian Pizza (I see lunch for tomorrow!)
Water and Iced Tea (not sweetened with suga!)
Dessert- I may have a little scoop of ice cream tonight...we shall see and I'll let you know tomorrow.

Happy Birthday America! (a day late)

We had a nice relaxing day...sent the child to her biological mother's :( for a few days and then went to my parent's for dinner.

I made my nephew cry at dinner because he wouldn't eat his dinner, so he couldn't have watermelon and I ate the watermelon in front of him. Oops! Gotta learn somehow (him, not me)! Buuut I made up for it by taking him outside to play with Bruce the Cat. Score for Aunt B (thats ME!)

Here is the child dressed for the 4th. Then I channelled my inner Pretty Nails employee and did her toes! Love having a girl!

What I Ate...on a HOLIDAY (YIKES!)
Brunch- 3 pieces of homemade french toast (made with 1 egg, skim milk, spices, & vanilla), 5 pieces of bacon, 1 glass of skim chocolate milk
Lunch- NOTHING (see what I ate above)
Appetizer- crab/shrimp dip with baked chips that Momma made, 8 peel and eat shrimp
Dinner- grilled lean hamburger with blue cheese/bacon/mushrooms/onions (only ate 1/2, gave the rest to hubs!), roasted potatoes, roasted veggies
Dessert- low fat homemade cherry delite, and the infamous making child cry watermelon
5 glasses of Pinot (with a headache today)

Lunch- Left Over Taco Salad
Dinner- Grilled Chicken Breast, Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad, Green Pepper, Grilled Onions, 2 Egg Whites (Very Random Dinner!!!)
Dessert- Angel Food Cake with Pineapple and Strawberries.
1 Corona Light, 1 Coors Lite, and 8 Glasses to H2O

I'm too tired to post anything else...Night Night!


I'm at work, and they are ordering Chinese and I declined. Go ME...but I'm pretty pissed about it!

Breakfast- Weight Smart Oatmeal
Lunch- Turkey/Pepperjack Cheese on Whole Wheat Bun, Grapes, and 2.5c of Popcorn
Dinner- Hubs made Taco Salad...pretty sure it wasn't healthy, but it was amazing!

Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned (I'm not even Catholic!)

For I am completely in love with a another man...150 pounds, tan, and loves to kiss me all over! I am willing to reveal him publicly. Oh, and my husband does know about this other man. I think he may be in love as well...

This is Sebastian...I never really knew how completely in love I would/could ever be with an animal. Sebastian is our 5 year old English Mastiff. We haven't always had him. He was my brother's for the 1st 3 years of his life. When my bro and sister-in-law were building their house I took the dog. 9 months later when they moved in...I kept the dog. If they wanted him back, I honestly don't think I could have given him back.

He is crazy spoiled...sleeps with Kira most nights, but if its stormin' he has to get in bed with Momma. This dog in my therapy, and brings me a crazy amount of happiness. It is crazy to get so attached. The day he dies, someone may have to sedated me.

Ok, so this post has made me look like a complete nut. Sad thing is...its all true.

Now, I am going to share a bowel of popcorn with my our bed...while hubs in washing the car. Judge me...I don't care!

I'm still awake!

The only explanation for this is that I had a good day at the work place (now if only the next 2 will be as good!)

I do believe I did pretty good today (except dinner) and here is why...

So typically we would both eat 2...I told him to make me 1 and only 1! I should not be tempted with another 380 calorie goodness!

So, here is what I ate:
Breakfast- Weight Smart Maple/Brown Sug Oatmeal (I wish it was a good as it smelled)
Lunch- 1c of the homemade Tuna Helper from last night (even better today), Fresh Pineapple
Dinner- See Above (only ONE)
Snack- 2.5c Home popped popcorn made with 1 T. of canola oil
Water x 3 glasses (I need to drink more) and 1 Pink Lemonade (5 calories)

Lunch it packed and ready for tomorrow! Nighty Night!

Preteen Pool Party??

Last Friday I let Kira have a pool party at my parent's house and then a bon fire at our house. Kira has 3 close friends...2 of them happen to be BOYS! I don't have a problem with this. I was always closer to boys...wait...maybe I should have a problem with this!

Anyways, I picked them up at 11:45AM and took them home at 10:30PM! Yowza, that is a loooong time with preteens!

While sitting out by the bonfire I was playing a little Backstreet Boys on Pandora and stupidly said that they should have a Back to School Dance Party. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?! I guess I wanted to relive my 5-6th grade years. This resulted in 4 excited preteens. Score for Momma B AGAIN, but really...what was I thinking?

(All joking aside, the kids were all really good...except they ate...A LOT)

I Resisted!

Yippee!! I didn't eat any of those bad boys!! Please note that those are not a picture of my yummy, marshmellowy goodness...Mine had to be eaten with a spoon, but not by ME! All this excitedness is just a step in 1 direction and in reality I am not all that excited. If I can't turn down a Rice Crispy treat then I have more problems to deal with. The sweet, preteen child did like my crispy falling apart sweet treats though. Score one for Momma B!

What I ate today:
Breakfast- 1c Fiber One Raisin Cereal with lowfat milk
Lunch- 1c Baby Carrots, 1/4c Almonds, 1 Lite Baby Bell Cheese
Dinner- 2c Homemade Tuna Helper made with whole wheat noodles, FF mushroom soup, a little cheese, and cracker topping.

I would like to say that I went swimming, but my swimming consisted of floating around on a float reading my book for 2 hours and swatting away bugs. What can I say?

I work for the next 3 days which means the Hubs is in charge of cooking...PORTIONS PORTIONS PORTIONS! I will take my lunch every day though. I may not post what I ate until Sunday night because once I get off work and shower, I hit the sack!

I did it!

I didn't eat any of those stinkin' rice crispie treats (but it is only 11:30AM!)

What I am actually talking about it that I spruced up my blog...I must say blogger is slightly hard to work with.

AHA Moment, WTF moment, OMG moment...whatever you want to call it...

So this blog may take another direction...As I was making rice crispie treats for the very first time sans child...I realize "what the f*ck am I doing?" Do I look like I need a rice cripie treat? Most that knew me in high school knew that I was stick skinny. My prom dress when I was a Junior was a 4 and Senior a 6. But the fact was I was super athletic and not taking in as many calories as I was burning off UNLESS I was on a binge (no, I never purged)

Since my Senior year, the weight just keep creeping on and on and on. I have spent hundreds in gym memberships (and usually only went once every couple months), I have done weight watchers twice and cheated...twice, low carb (lost 30 gained 40), prescription diet pills (worked well but are so unhealthy!), tried to become a runner (but quit that too.)

So, what is next? I'm not sure where to go from here. I need to lose eh...50 pounds? That would make me "healthy." I am 25 years old...I don't like wearing the sz I wear (one day I may state my weight and sizes but not today.) I should be prancing around in a 2 piece instead of a tankini (a stylish one at that, but whatever.)

So, I had my AHA, WTF, OMG, OH SHIT the question is...where do I go from here? I need to be held accountable.

I know what my problems with food are...portion control, bored eating, eat what my family eats. Lucky for me I love healthy food and I know what I should and shouldn't eat, but I just need to say "no." Plus...I need to exercise. I refuse to pay for a gym because we are trying to save money to do a house update. I can walk and run either outside or at our church...

So starting right now, this blog is going to turn into my food diary to hold ME accountable for my actions. I need to stick to it to be a healthier, happy ME.

So today I had:
Breakfast-Fiber One Raisin Cereal with 1% milk...but I had 2 bowels :(
Lunch-Queso and Chips
Dinner- Fried Chicken (breast & wing), Potato Wedges, 2 ears of corn on the cob
2 Diet Dr. Peppers, a glass of pink lemonade, a glass of Pinot, and 2 bottles of water

So...that sucked, and I know it. Better luck tomorrow. So the next thought it...I should probably throw out those rice crispie treats

So WHAT Wednesday...

I have been reading some other blogs lately and trying to get some ideas for our blog. I have seen Wordless Wednesday where just a picture is posted, buuut I haven't been taking too many pictures these days. To be honest, Momma needs a new camera! The one we have not so great quality these days. So, I've decided that I will do "so WHAT Wednesday." I am just going to post random facts, quirks, etc about myself and family. Take it for what it is...I'm sure someone out there can have a good laugh with it!

-if on most nights I say good night to my family at 8pm so that I can go to sleep...a working woman, in a high stress job needs her sleep!
-if I love my dog like he is my child
-if I think I am entitled to a cleaning lady because I grew up with one, and quite frankly I HATE cleaning. Now I just need to find one that I trust, and that I can afford
-if I only have to work 3 days a week...YOU try to keep 4-5 patients alive who think they are at a 5 star hotel, all while providing good quality care AND being compassionate AND caring...and get close to a patient and their family just to find out that you are pronoucing their time on death right before you get off work. Being a nurse is hard, emotional work
-if on at least 2-3 of my off days I stay in my PJ's, catch up on my DVR shows, and read blogs until 30 minutes before my family gets home (sorry honey!)
-if I suggested letting Kira have a party before school starts because I kinda/sorta/maybe want to relive my Middle School Days...but now I am having a "what was I thinking moment?!?!"
-if my single friends call Wednesdays "Wine Down Wednesday" and Thursdays "Thirsty Thursdays"...for me Wednesday is 1/2 way through the week where you make sure dinner is on the table, homework is done, the child in showered, and in bed by 9:30 and Thursdays is just the day before Friday and you just repeat what you did on Wednesday, but you try to spend a little time with your husband before you fall sound asleep because your exhausted. I LOVE my single friends to death, but we just aren't living the same life sometimes

Low Key Summer??????

We are TRYING to lay low this summer...the key word...TRYING! Kira's summer is typically packed full of activities, but she only wanted to participate in acting camp at Hayswood Theater. She found out yesterday that she got the lead role! This is her 1st lead role out of the 7 plays that she has done at Hayswood. She is going to be Jasmine in Alladin. Since our poor child is not athletic, and have to put a little competition into the acting!

Kira getting ready to go visit her cousin that will be in Terre Haute from Georgia this weekend...she is quite the baby guru lately.

Next on the list is a trip to DC when her Aunt Stephanie at the end of June (probably-working on details)

Ryan and I talked and think we are going to put her in the Safe Sitter class at Floyd Memorial. We think it will be good for her if she wants to start babysitting soon. Plus she will become certified in infant CPR and choking. It is only a 1 day class, so it won't take up much time.

At the end of July we are going on vacation with my parents to Gulf Shores...

And will start...

Summer Break

Summer has officially began! Kira graduated from the 5th Grade and even received the President's Award! She was 1 of 4 children that got the award. She had to have greater than a 3.7 GPA, and had to excel on the ISTEP. We are thinking maybe one day she will be giving a speech at her high graduation...

The bottom picture is Kira and her 5th grade teacher. She was by far one of Kira's favorite teachers while at North Harrison Elementary.

Kira toured the Middle School and was not impressed LOL. It will be interesting once August comes around. She said the school was stinky, and she didn't like the Morgan kids...YIKES!

Wow! Where has the time gone?!?

I haven't blogged in a really LONG time! When we moved into our new house, we could not get Internet access! Luckily, we finally got the Internet!

A quick update on what has gone on in our lives...I finally graduate nursing school in May 2010 and I am working full time at Floyd Memorial in the PCU department. I love what I do, but it is very stressful at times. Ryan is working for a company in Louisville...Oh, and I guess I forgot the biggest news. RYAN AND I GOT MARRIED! We had the most amazing wedding on October 23, 2010. It was absolutely beautiful, and everything that I had ever dreamt of!

Miss Kira is almost 11, going on 16! She is finishing up the 5th grade. It is hard to believe that she will be starting middle school soon! She has made straight A's all year long. We are super proud. We don't think that she is going to be an athlete...Looks like she is going to lean more towards the arts. This December was her 7th play at Hayswood Theater. She enjoys doing that, and reading.

I am going to try and do better blogging. Wish me luck!
